About Morocco Zaino

Who we are: Morocco Zaino is a locally-run tour team based in Merzouga, at the foot of the Erg Chebbi dunes. We plan private desert tours from Marrakech and Fes, activities in Merzouga, and longer tailor-made trips across Morocco.

Why we do this

The Sahara is not a backdrop for us — it's home. We know which track to take when the wind picks up, which kasbah serves the best tagine on the long drive from Marrakech, and which dune gives you the sunrise without the crowd. We started planning trips because we saw too many travellers rush through the desert in a single night on a crowded bus. We think it deserves better.

How we work

• Private by default — your own vehicle and driver, your own pace.
• Honest advice — if two days is too rushed for your plans, we will tell you.
• Local partners — camel handlers, drivers, cooks and musicians from the Tafilalet region.
• No online payment — we confirm every trip personally before anything is booked.
